What is the Katikati Acorn Fund?
The Acorn Foundation, the WBOP’s regional Community Foundation, has established an endowment fund called the Katikati Acorn Fund. The special appeal of this fund is that people who donate know that their gift will help provide ongoing support to charities and community groups in the Katikati district, forever. It’s local giving for local causes.

How it works...

Donate
Donations can be made to the Katikati Acorn Fund of any amount, at any time. Each will be receipted. One-off gifts can be made now via the Acorn Foundation website, a regular automatic payment can be set up, or donors can leave a gift in their will.
2.
Donations Pooled and Invested
Donations to this fund will be pooled and invested with other Acorn donor funds, in perpetuity. Acorn’s funds are professionally managed by Craigs Investment Partners.
3.
The Fund Grows
The fund earns investment returns, which are compounded until the fund reaches $50,000, after which a portion of the returns are paid out annually to charities and community groups in Katikati.
4.
Annual Distributions to Katikati
Distributions will be allocated by the Acorn Foundation Distributions Committee in consultation with local Katikati community members.
The Distributions Committee will ensure that the fund’s distributions support a range of charitable causes doing worthwhile mahi in the Katikati community.
